With over 400km of slopes and 100 ski lifts, Les 4 Vallées is Switzerland's most expansive ski resort. With high quality snow and exceptional weather, the area is one of the world's premier Alpine resorts.

Tiger's Nest is situated above the snowline at 1600m in the east of the mountain with popular ski lifts located 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 7 minutes and 11 minutes away.

Lift passes can be purchased at the chair lift less than five minutes away, while well-stocked ski hire, ski equipment and clothing shops can be found in nearby Les Collons or in Sion.  In addition, the Tiger's Nest team can arrange ski lessons - although these will be additional costs. The family has a list of recommended ski instructors who they use themselves including superb childrens' instructors.

A single ski pass allows you access to the connected slopes of Thyon, Veysonnaz, Nendaz, La Tzoumaz and Verbier (the town of Verbier is a fabulous 90-minute ski away). Local area passes are also available for those keen to stay closer to home. With so much variety, the resort is perfect for skiers and snowboarders, beginners and experts. Two heliports also cater for heli-skiing.

The highest point in the area, the Mont-Fort Glacier, at 3300m, offers stunning skiing and breathtaking views of the Matterhorn, Grand Combin, and the entire Swiss Alps across to Mont-Blanc in France.

Ski conditions are particularly favorable from December to April. Lifts are open daily from 8.45am to 4.30pm, and up to 6pm on Saturdays.

The Swiss Ski School at Thyon 4 Vallées offers kids and group lessons, as well as private instructors and ski guides.

Further afield in the Valais region are nine resorts that reach over 3000m, including Arolla, Crans-Montana, Saas-Fee and Zermatt. All are within easy reach of Tiger's Nest.
