Well-stocked ski hire, ski equipment and clothing shops can be found nearby in Les Collons and in Sion.

Below is a list of clothing and items to bring or buy, but first check your luggage allowance!

  • Think layers – it's easy to warm up by adding them and cool down by reducing them. The outer layer should be a waterproof ski jacket, middle layer is usually a fleece
  • A scarf or neck warmer
  • Thermal underwear (vital if it is really cold)
  • Sun cream and lip balm. The sun is very strong in the mountains so a high factor is recommended
  • A winter hat that covers your ears, ski gloves, and ski goggles (sunglasses are acceptable but often less practical when skiing)
  • Waterproof ski salopettes and several pairs of ski socks
  • Walking boots
  • Silicon spray for glasses
  • Small plastic bags for mobile phones, mini-cameras and wallets
  • A small backpack for taking up the mountain (useful for carrying supplies including sun cream, spare goggles/ sunglasses, water bottle and snacks)
  • Ski bag and boots if you are taking your own. You should advise the airline before you travel. For newer skiers we recommend that you hire skis, boots and helmet on arrival
  • We recommend that protective helmets are worn by all skiers on the slopes

We also recommend that you exercise in the run up to your ski trip, especially if you are new to the sport. Please seek specific advice from a fitness instructor.
